Most healthy adults between 30 and 75 are good candidates. The best way to find out is through our free consultation — one of our physicians will review your health history and goals and let you know honestly whether a treatment is likely to benefit you. We don't accept every patient. If we don't think you're a strong candidate, we'll tell you upfront rather than proceed with a treatment that may not deliver results.
It's a 30-minute call with one of our physicians — not a salesperson. You'll discuss your health history, lifestyle, and goals. The doctor will explain which treatment options make sense for you, what outcomes are realistic, and answer any questions you have. There's no obligation to pay and book a treatment afterward.
For stem cell treatment we allow booking at least 2 weeks ahead to allow time for your consultation, any required pre-treatment bloodwork, travel planning and preparing your treatment. For other IV therapies we offer you can book same-week when slots are available, but earlier is better to secure your preferred date.
Conventional medicine excels at treating acute illness and managing disease. What it often lacks is a toolkit for proactive, root-cause regeneration — supporting the body's ability to repair tissue, reduce systemic inflammation, and restore cellular vitality before a problem becomes a diagnosis. Stem cell therapy doesn't replace your doctor — it fills a gap conventional medicine wasn't designed to address.
The FDA approval process is lengthy and expensive — often 10+ years and hundreds of millions of dollars — which means many internationally accepted therapies take decades to reach US patients through official channels. Mexico's regulatory framework allows licensed clinics such as ours to offer stem cell treatments that meet established safety standards.
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) concentrates growth factors from your own blood and is well-studied for joint pain and skin — but has a narrower scope. Mesenchymal stem cells migrate to sites of inflammation, modulate the immune system, and stimulate tissue repair across multiple body systems simultaneously. The two approaches aren't mutually exclusive — some protocols combine them.
Yes. There are thousands of published studies on mesenchymal stem cells on PubMed, and hundreds of active clinical trials worldwide. The evidence base is strongest for inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, joint repair, and cardiovascular applications — with growing research in neurological and metabolic health. We're happy to share relevant studies during your consultation.
Stem cell therapy using mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) has a well-established safety profile. These cells are anti-inflammatory, non-tumorigenic, and well-tolerated by the body. Serious adverse events are rare and have not been observed in our clinic. Common mild side effects include temporary fatigue or mild soreness at the injection site, which typically resolve within 24–48 hours.
Our physicians are board-certified and licensed in Mexico with training in regenerative medicine, internal medicine, and sports medicine. All procedures are performed by or under the direct supervision of a licensed physician — never by technicians alone. We are happy to share full credentials during your consultation.
We use allogeneic umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells, sourced from accredited tissue banks that collect cord tissue from healthy, consented donors following normal births. The tissue undergoes rigorous testing for infectious diseases and cell viability before use. We do not use stem cells derived from aborted tissue.
Yes. zenåra operates under full licensing from COFEPRIS — Mexico's federal health regulatory authority, equivalent to the FDA. Stem cell therapy is legal and regulated in Mexico, which is one reason patients from the US choose to travel here for treatment that is not yet FDA-approved.
Most patients spend 2–4 hours at the clinic on treatment day. You'll begin with a brief check-in and vital signs assessment. The physician will review your chart and confirm the protocol. The infusion or injection itself takes around 90 minutes depending on your treatment. You'll rest briefly afterward — no anesthesia or overnight stay required.
IV infusions are no more uncomfortable than a standard blood draw. For joint injections (Mobility+), we use local anesthetic to minimize discomfort. Most patients describe the experience as easy and relaxing.
Many patients see meaningful results from a single session. In some cases, depending on your goals and baseline health, your physician may recommend 2–3 sessions spaced several weeks or months apart. This will be discussed and agreed upon before you commit to anything.
Most patients have no downtime and return to normal activities the same day or the next morning. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise and alcohol for 48–72 hours. If you're traveling from the US, you can typically fly home the day of your treatment.
Results vary by treatment and individual. Some patients notice increased energy within the first 1–2 weeks. Deeper regenerative effects (joint repair, skin renewal, immune rebalancing) often continue developing over 3–6 months. We set realistic expectations during your consultation and follow up at 30, 60, and 90 days.
For the first 72 hours: avoid anti-inflammatory medications (like ibuprofen or aspirin) unless medically necessary, limit alcohol, avoid intense sun exposure, and hold off on vigorous exercise. Your physician will provide a complete written aftercare sheet tailored to your specific treatment.
Yes. Every patient receives follow-up check-in via video call. If you have concerns at any point, our team is reachable at hello@zenara.mx(mailto:hello@zenara.mx)
Treatments start at $2,499 USD for Beauty+ and from $2,999 USD for Longevity+, Performance+, Immunity+, and Mobility+. The final cost depends on the protocol your physician recommends. Full pricing is discussed transparently during your consultation — no surprises.
US health insurance does not cover stem cell therapy. However, many patients use HSA or FSA accounts, and some find the cost compares favorably to years of ongoing prescriptions or surgeries. We provide detailed receipts for your records.
We accept USD and MXN, major credit and debit cards and wire transfer. An online deposit is required to confirm your booking.
Deposits are refundable with at least 7 days notice before your scheduled appointment. Cancellations inside 7 hours are non-refundable and will forfeit the deposit. Contact us as soon as possible if plans change and we'll do our best to accommodate a solution.
Tijuana is 30 minutes from downtown San Diego. If you're flying into San Diego, the easiest option is to get an Uber/Lyft from the airport to the boarder and walk across. If you are driving the best option is to the park on the US side of the San Ysidro or Otay Mesa crossing — this avoids long vehicle lines. Once you are in Tijuana, an Uber on the Mexican side will take you to our location in Zona Río in about 10 minutes.
Zona Río — where our clinic is located — is the city's modern business and medical district. It's well-lit, busy, and home to hospitals, hotels, restaurants, and international businesses. Tens of thousands of Americans visit Tijuana for medical care each year without incident.
Yes — Zona Río has several good hotels within minutes of the clinic. Our treatment is fast and optimized to getting you back home quickly but we're happy to suggest specific options when you book if you plan to stay overnight in either Tijuana or San Diego.
US and Canadian citizens need a valid passport or passport card to re-enter the United States. You do not need a visa for short visits to Mexico as a US citizen. Make sure your passport is not expired before traveling.
Not at all. Our entire team speaks fluent English and the majority of our patients travel from the United States. All consultations, consent forms, and follow-up communications are available in English.
